HPS Benefit Concert Update Candice

collapse post

We have had a really busy weekend. We apologize that it has taken a while for us to post about the concert on Friday evening.  The concert went very well.  It was a great night of music and we had a good turnout. We were disappointed because we left our camera at home so we didn't get any pictures. However, Stan Lucas from our church recorded it and we'll have video clips added in the next few weeks.  Crystal and I performed a total of eight songs. We had some help from our guests Paul Nunez, Chuck Kinslow, Judy West, John Edmonds, Paula Dahl and our nieces Jasmine and Danielle. Our Aunt Judy also told our story and how the two of us are affected with HPS. Thanks to all of you for making the evening so enjoyable. You were wonderful!! We started the concert off with two of our favorite upbeat songs "I Go To The Rock" and "The Days of Elijah" We sang a trio with our niece Jasmine.  The song we sang with her was "Precious Lord Take My Hand/ Just A Closer Walk With Thee" Medley.  Jasmine is only 13 years old and she has a beautiful voice.  The three of us have a great blend and we greatly enjoy singing with her.  We sang a beautiful song called"Jesus" which our niece Danielle signed to.  Danielle, thanks for working so hard on that song.  The sign language was awesome!! You did such a great job! We sang "I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy" and "I Will Never Leave You Alone". Both songs have such a powerful message.  We closed the concert with two of our favorites.  The song that I wrote back in 2005 "Thank you Jesus" which was accompanied by Paula Dahl on the piano. Along with an accapella rendition of "The Lords Prayer".  It was a wonderful evening.  As of this morning we raised so far $2092.34, there are still a few donations being made.  We fell short of our goal which was $3,000.  However, it is still an amazing amount of money and will go far to find a cure for HPS.  Thank you to those of you who came out and supported us and thank you for those who prayed for us.  It was definitely a success.

This past weekend Crystal

collapse post

We are counting down the days to the HPS benefit concert which is this Friday.  We are really looking forward to it and have spent the past few weeks practicing and preparing.  This past weekend was so enjoyable.  Saturday afternoon some good friends of ours came by our home for a visit.  We hadn't seen Rodger and Ruthie for three years so it was wonderful seeing them again and catching up.  We met them at an Arabic church where the two of us were singing for a revival back in October 2002.  The Lord has blessed us with their friendship and we truly appreciate their love, support and prayers.

Candice and I sang a trio yesterday morning at church with a man named Chuck.  We sang "I've Just Seen Jesus." We sang it a couple of years ago and decided it would be nice to sing again as Easter is approaching.  Chuck has a beautiful classical voice so the three of us blend really well together.  He will be singing at our benefit concert a long with several others from our church.  After church our family had lunch at the Islands with our friends Judy and Jess.  Candice and I had to be back to church for choir practice at four.  So we had just enough time to take a short nap before we had to leave again. Our church choir is putting on an Easter production on Palm Sunday evening.  We have been having two hour rehearsals on Sunday afternoons getting ready for our production.  So, its a very busy time for us right now.  We are excited about what God has in store for us in the next two weeks.  We are praying for good health between now and Easter.  Please pray that the benefit concert will be a big success and that we'll be in good voice.   Thank you so much!

It’s been a while Crystal

collapse post

It's been a while since we've last posted.  We have spent the past couple of weeks preparing for our upcoming benefit concert which is two weeks from tonight.  We've been practicing and advertising this week trying to get the word out to as many people as we can.  We can't believe it's coming up so quickly.  We are singing eight pieces that night, so we are working on getting all of them perfected.  We went shopping last week and we finally found an outfit.  It is so hard shopping for the two of us.  We can never find two of the same thing because we are petite.  We've also been struggling with allergies this week, our temp here in Phoenix was 87 today, so everything is starting to bloom.  It's nice having the warmer weather but not good for allergies.  Please be praying that we don't get sick before the concert. There is quite a bit of sickness going around here.

In the last post Candice told you she had a bleeding episode with her leg.  Tonight it is her arm that is bleeding.  Mom used the septic stick on her but it didn't stop the bleeding.  Our dad tried using it on her and he must have the magic touch because he was able to get the bleeding to stop.  She is still trying to gain weight, drinking one BOOST a day.  Her appetite is pretty good, but she's still at 72 pounds.

Please pray for us as we get closer to the exciting night.  We are looking forward to seeing friends we don't see very often and being able to sing for the glory of God.

Psalms 96 1-4 (New Life Version)

1 Sing to the Lord a new song. Let all the earth sing to the Lord.
2 Sing to the Lord. Honor His name. Make His saving power known from day to day.
3 Tell of His shining-greatness among the nations. Tell of His wonderful works among all the people.
4
For the Lord is great and should be given much praise. He is to be honored with fear above all gods.
