Hello! It's been a while since we last posted anything. We are doing well and have been quite busy practicing for our upcoming performances this month. We have a womens luncheon next Tuesday that we are preparing inspirational music for. The Sunday after that is our student voice recital with our voice teacher. Crystal and I have been taking voice lessons since the age of 12, over the past 14 years we have taken from a total of five different voice instructors. We have benefited from everyone of them, but we are currently studying with Karen Crawford. She is a wonderful teacher and we've learned so much from her within the last year and a half. We enjoy singing and training in classical music. I am currently working on a couple of German pieces, "Widmung" and "An die Musik." Crystal is working on a couple of French pieces, "Plaisir D'amour" and "Juliet's Waltz" which is quite demanding. It's a bit of a challenge learning and singing in a foreign language. We have sung in Latin, Italian, German, and Crystal has done French. I haven't learned French yet, but I am hoping to attempt it soon. We will pick one of the two songs that we're working on to sing at the recital on the 20th. May 27th we will be ministering at the Salvation Army church here in Avondale. We ministered there last year and were invited back. So we are looking forward to that.
We had our sister Rhonda here for most of the weekend visiting from Cottonwood. She and mom spent time shopping together and catching up. It was so nice to see her when we have the opportunity. She is so special to us and we love her lots. Our friend Krystle came over on Friday and spent the day with us. We met another friend of ours Susan, at Mimi's cafe for lunch. Susan and her husband use to go to our church years ago. They had to leave our church because it was too far of a drive from where they live. Susan, Krystle, Crystal and I sang in a professional singing group called "Little Women". If you remember the book "Little Women" that is how we dressed in the huge Victorian gowns and sang songs from the 1800's. It was a lot of fun, but very exhausting. We started singing in the group when we were 18 and still in high school. After four years with the group we decided to resign and commit to our full time ministry "Angels in Voice". It was very difficult to juggle a full time college schedule, "Little Women" and our ministry. While dropping out of Little Women was a difficult step, it made our load a little lighter and our voices weren't as tired. It was a great experience and we made some life long friendships. While Krystle was here visiting on Friday we put our old Little Women videos on and watched them. We had a good time watching and singing along with every song. It brought back old memories for sure.
On Saturday we went to our church choir party. It was held at Paul and Susanne's home. Paul is the new choir director at our church. We had a wonderful time of fellowship, he cooked a Mexican feast. It was so delicious!!
Crystal and I sang "I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy" at church yesterday morning. It is a beautiful song. It was one of the first songs we learned back when were 19 years old. It talks about seeing our loved ones again when we die and all the people we will see when we enter the gates of Heaven. The one we long to see is Jesus, he is the one who died for us and one day soon we will finally meet him. This song is one of our favorites and it has a powerful message. A couple of years ago Crystal and I were singing at a church and a young man came to know Christ through this song. We were so excited for him. How awesome it is to know the Lord uses songs to bring people into his kingdom. We pray that our ministry will bring many more to Christ and the Lord will continue to use us to sing for HIS honor and glory.
