It’s been a while Crystal

collapse post

It's been a while since we've last updated.  Our computer crashed last Sunday and we were unable to get online all last week.  It was a frustrating week trying to get it fixed and Candice and I really missed having it around.  We ended up buying a new one because the old one couldn't be fixed.  It was disappointing because the computer was only a year and a half old.  They are so nice to have, but unpredictable because you just don't know when they'll go out.  We are happy that we are back in service and can now update and let you know how things are going here.

We are doing very well.  Trying to stay cool in this hot Arizona weather.  As I sit here and type its 110 degrees outside right now.  So we pretty much stay indoors where it is nice and cool.  We are now booking for the summer and fall.  We received a call from a Pastor last week inviting us to come do a concert at a church in Tuba City, AZ on July 15th.  It's near the Navjo Indian Reservation.  He and his wife were at the church in Superior the Sunday Candice and I sang.  Tuba City is about a four hour drive from here, so we will leave Saturday.  The church is putting our family up in a hotel for the night.  We will be giving an hour and fifteen minute concert.  We're excited about the opportunities the Lord has given us to minister in different churches.

We are staying quite busy, our sister Rhonda and niece Danielle came down from Cottonwood, AZ. to visit the weekend before last.  We went to Cabela's, which is a hunting store.  Rhonda and Danielle had been to Cabela's a few times before because both of their husband's like to hunt.  It was our first time going and what an experience it was.  They had this huge fish aquarium with all different types of fish in it.  There was an albino fish in the aquarium too.  That was pretty interesting to see.  They had a gigantic elephant, we all looked tiny standing in front of it.  It was neat seeing all the different animals.  We learned the difference between a white tale deer and mule deer.  Thanks to Danielle. she was a great teacher.  She kept quizzing Candice and I to see if we could tell which was which.  We saw antelope, elk and moose as well.  It really is an amazing store.

We always have such a wonderful time with Rhonda and Danielle.  Danielle, Candice and I spent the day playing games. Disney Sorry Tumble Tower and Catch Phrase.  Catch Phrase is very similar to shcrades, you are given a word and you have to describe the word to those on your team.  It was Candice, Danielle and I against mom and Rhonda.  We played two games and they won both games.  It really wasn't fair though because it was three against two, we really needed an extra player.  We had a blast playing it though.  Candice and I would bring it to our college church group on Wednesday nights when we had game time.  Its a great game to play with a big group of people.  We really enjoyed our visit with Rhonda and Danielle.  It didn't seem like they were here long enough.

Last Thursday we invited our friends Larry & Lora over to visit for the evening.  We had a nice evening.  Candice & I with our mom thought it would be fun to put on a Little Women show.  Many of you already know that we sang with a professional singing group called "Little Women" for four years.  Since Larry and Lora had never seen our performance with the group we wanted to dress up in our costumes and sing a few songs for them.  Before they arrived we got all dressed in our summer costume, did our hair and makeup as well.  When they arrived here we sang a few songs from our Little Women repituar.  We sang songs from the 1800's "Grandfather's Clock," "Bye Bye Blackbird," "Dream," "i've Told Every Little Star" and "Believe Me with all those Enduring Young Charms."  We also went through and found some old videos that our dad had recorded while we were singing in the group to show our friends.  They really enjoyed it and it brought back so many wonderful memories for Candice and I.  We changed from our summer costume into our winter costume and sang a few Christmas songs from our Little Women Christmas repituar.  One of our favorites is the theme song from the movie "Home Alone'. "Somewhere In My Memory".  We sang that one along with "It's A Marshmellow World."  We really can't relate to that song because we don't have snow here in the winter, but its always a fun one to sing.  We had a wonderful visit with Larry and Lora. Thank you both for your dear friendship.  Our time together was definitely a highlight of our week.

We want to thank you for the emails and comments about the music videos.  You are an encouragement to us and we appreciate all your love, support and prayers.

Summer is Here Crystal

collapse post

Thank you all so much for your prayers.  The concert in Superior went very well.  We were in good voice, and the people were so welcoming and kind.  We left our home at 8am and it took us about an hour and a fifteen minutes to get there.  We had plenty of time to set up before the service at eleven.  Our dear friends Larry and Lora came to support us.  Thank you so much you two for your love and friendship.  You are a blessing to the two of us and our family and we greatly appreciate all your help.   Candice and I were given the whole service to do a concert.  We started off with "Come And Fill This Place", "The End of the Beginning," "The River is Here" /"Let the River Flow" and "You Raise Me Up."  We spoke between each song giving our testimony and explaining a little bit about each song.  Our mom shared our story with the audience to give us a little break.  She doesn't like speaking in front of people, but she did a wonderful job,  We greatly appreciate her doing that for us, and it gave us a chance to have a breather.  We ended the concert with three of our favorite songs.  "Jesus," "I Will Never Leave You Alone" and "You Are My Hiding Place."  We had a great time there and truly felt the presence of the Lord in the service.  We pray that the Lord will continue to open doors for our ministry. We love to perform and will go wherever HE leads us.

We've been taking it easy these past couple of days.  Mom is going through some of her fabric and she sewed Candice and I a little summer dress to where around the house.  It is so hot here, that you have to wear light and comfortable things to stay cool.  She is going to make us each another dress, some capris and a pajama set.  We are excited about it.  The Lord has blessed us with parents who are so gifted.  Our mom made all our clothes when we were little.  We've always enjoyed that because it made us feel special to have something "home made."  Our friends wanted to know where we bought our clothes.  We would reply happily "Our mom makes them." You couldn't find outfits she made in the stores.  Even to this day we don't spend a fortune on clothes.  We figure we can have more, if we spend less.  So we are always shopping the clearance department at Kohls, Rave and Body Central.  Those are three of our favorite stores.

Since it's summer, we thought it would be fun on Tuesday nights to have family Disney movie night.  We have a whole collection of Disney movies that we want to start watching again.  So last night, we put on "The Lion King" it's been years since we've seen that movie.  I think it is one of my favorites.  The music is so inspiring and we enjoyed singing along with every song.

Candice and I want you to know if you have any prayer requests please feel free to send them to us.  We pray together every night before we fall asleep and it is our privilege to pray for you.

Thanks for all your support and encouragment

Ministering in Superior Crystal

collapse post

It has been another busy week for us.  We've been practicing for our booking tomorrow at a small church in Superior, AZ.  Superior is about an hour and a half drive from here.  When Candice and I perform we take our sound system with us.  So we usually have to get there an hour earlier for our dad to get it set up.  We are giving a 45 minute concert so please pray for our voices and for safe traveling mercies as well.  Our good friends Larry and Lora Root are coming to support us.  Larry helps dad set up the sound.  They are a wonderful couple and we are so thankful the Lord has brought them to us.  We are looking forward to a wonderful time.  We always enjoy ministering and going where ever the Lord leads us.

We had some dear friends of our family Larry and Shirley Anger over for dinner yesterday evening.  Dad Barbequed hamburgers and mom made a jello fruit salad along with cooked carrots and watermellon.  Shirley brought baked beans which were wonderful and banana pudding.  The banana pudding was so delicious!!  Our dad makes the best hamburgers.  When we fix them we have to put everything on them.  Tomatoes, pickels, avacodo, cheese, grilled onions, lettuce and mayo.  It's so big, you should see Candice and I trying to fit it in our small mouths.  The whole thing ends up falling apart, but they are soo good!!  We joke about dad opening up his own business.  We enjoyed our dinner outside on our patio, the weather was so beautiful.  It's starting to get hot here through the day, but once evening comes it's perfect.  We had a wonderful time with the Anger's they are so special to the two of us and our family.

"A friend is one who strengthens you with prayers, blesses you with love and encourages you with hope."
