Asthma and Allergies Candice

collapse post

Crystal and I decided to stay home from church this morning.  We both have been dealing with allergies off and on the past two weeks.  I noticed on Friday when I woke up that I sounded congested and my lungs were feeling really tight and wheezy.  I started getting an asthmatic cough as well.  Anyone who has dealt with asthma will know that one of the symptoms you have with it, is an itchy throat and chin.  I don't have asthma flare ups very often, but this one has been pretty miserable.  Crystal is feeling alright, she's had some sinus headaches off and on this week, but her asthma seems to be stable at the moment.  We are scheduled to minister this coming Saturday evening and Sunday morning at the Logos Mission church (Eastern Indian Church) for their 7th Anniversary Celebration.  We have attended the celebration yearly and we have committed ourselves to being a part of it again this year.  We are praying that I will feel much better soon, so that we can start practicing for that.  Yesterday, I started using the nebulizer to see if that would help with the coughing, but I haven't noticed a difference yet.  If I wake up in the morning feeling the same way, we plan to call the doctor and see if I can get in for an appointment.  We just want to make sure this is asthma related and not something more serious.  Our mom has been dealing with a horrible sinus infection the past couple of weeks.  She finally got antibiotics for it this past Tuesday.  It even caused her awful ear pain.  We are glad she's starting to feel better.  It still pretty warm outside, but with the season  changing there are a lot of viruses and flu going around.  Since my immune system is suppressed, there is always a greater chance of picking up sickness.  Crystal decided to go to choir practice and church this evening.  I stayed home and rested on the couch.  I watched the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast."  Its one of our favorite movies.  Our parents figured it would be better if I stayed quiet.  Please keep us in your prayers for good heath this month.  We have so many exciting things coming with in the next week and we are praying that we'll be feeling well enough to do all of things we have scheduled. We'll keep you posted.

Thank You!!!

Saturday Afternoon Crystal

collapse post

The past two weeks have been pretty busy.  It's a nice cloudy day in the valley of the sun today and it looks like we might get some rain.  I hope so, we could really use all the rain we can get.  The weather is starting to cool down, with highs in the upper 80's today.  It's very nice. We spent the majority of the week practicing.  We are singing at our church tomorrow morning.  It has been two and a half months since we've sang there, so we're excited about it.  Candice and I have been working on our new duets.  One of the songs we've been working on is "In Christ Alone" by the Martins.  It's a beautiful song and boy is it powerful.  The reason we chose this song is because it reminds us that our strength is found ONLY in CHRIST and through our songs of PRAISE we give HIM all the glory and honor.  We just fell in love with this particular arrangement of the song, it has so many dynamics. We are really looking forward to singing it at our church for the first time.  We're also singing the lead solo in the choir number tomorrow, "Who Can Satisfy My Soul."  It's a soulful ballad.

Yesterday evening we had our dear friends Andy and JoAnne Weber over for dinner.  We have known the Webers for many years.  JoAnne was our second grade Sunday school teacher and Andy taught both the college and singles class.   We had a wonderful time visiting with them.  Dad grilled hamburgers and of coarse we put everything on them.  Our dad's hamburgers are the best.  Mom made baked beans along with a mandarin orange jello salad and watermelon.  It was delicious!!  After we finished eating Candice and I decided to give them a mini concert.  We sang the new one "In Christ Alone"  and "Jesus."  Andy requested "I Go to the Rock" saying that was one of his favorite songs.  It had been a while since we sang that one, we kept messing up the words. :)   Then we ended with one of our favorites "Days of Elijah." JoAnne baked a cake for dessert and so we enjoyed a piece of cake and visited a while longer before they went home.  It was an enjoyable evening.

The Lord is opening doors for our ministry.  We're scheduled to do a concert at Life Destiny Christian Church on Tuesday October 23rd.  We are excited about it and looking forward to what the Lord is doing in our lives.

In Christ Alone Lyrics

In Christ alone will I glory
Though I could pride myself in battles won
For I've been blessed beyond measure
And by His strength alone I overcome

Oh I could stop and count successes Like diamonds in my hand But those trophies could not equal to the grace by which I stand.

In Christ alone I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the cross
In every victory, let it be said of me
My source of strength, my source of hope
Is Christ alone.

In Christ alone will I glory
For only by His grace am I redeemed
And only His tender mercy
Could reach beyond my weakness to my need
And now I seek no greater honor, but just to know him more And to count my gain but losses to the glory of my Lord.

Repeat Chorus

Chorus 2

I place my trust to find my glory in the power of the cross In every victory, let it be said of me My source of strength, my source of hope Is Christ alone,(is Christ alone) My source of strength, my source of hope
Is Christ alone.

Worship service at Romanian Church Crystal

collapse post

It was a blessing to be invited back to the Romanian Baptist Church here in Phoenix to sing at their evening service this past Sunday.  We were there a little over a year ago and again we enjoyed ministering there.  The whole service was in Romanian, their choirs were awesome especially their men's choir.  The people were so welcoming and kind, and definitely doing the Lord's work.  It was so exciting to see friends who we met last year especially Flavia. Flavia is one of the pianists at their church. We have stayed in contact over the year through email and have gone to a movie and dinner together.  We feel so honored that God has allowed us to sing HIS praises in these international churches.  Romanian, Eastern Indian, Jewish, Hispanic, and Arabic.  Hearing God's word preached in all these different languages is quite amazing.  Thank you Lord for these opportunities.  Candice and I sang four songs.  "The River is Here, Let the River Flow," "Somebody's Praying Me through," "Lord I believe in You" and "Jesus."  Pastor Octavian translated for us when we spoke in between each song.  He is so great and we thank him for his support in our ministry.  The speaker was a Pastor/Missionary (can't remember his name) he and his wife are heading to Romania to continue their missionary work.  Please pray for them.   Candice and I had a translator who sat between us, his name was George.  Mom and Lora Root had a women sit behind them, between Dad and Larry Root.  The woman translated for the four of them.  She and her husband are also missionaries to Romania.  What a wonderful message and so inspiring.  The sermon was about the Samaritan women at the well and how Jesus reaches out to everyone, we shouldn't be selective in who we want to go minister to but reach out to everyone in need.  Thank you again Romanian Baptist church for having us, we so enjoyed our time with you.  Thank you for your support and prayers.

We'd like to share with you how the Lord opened the door for us to become aquainted with the Romanian Church.  In June of 2006 we were invited by Bobby Madella, who is Eastern Indian to attend a Wednesday night service at the Romanian Church.  His friend, an Indian Pastor was visiting from India and had been asked to speak at the Romanian Church.  We arrived before Bobby and the guest speaker and went in and sat down.  We began to wonder if we were in the wrong place.  Because of the language barrier and not knowing anybody, we began to get the impression that we were in the wrong place.  So we started to leave, then we noticed Bobby and his friend ariving.  Bobby had a Romanian friend in the church that spoke English.  He introduced us to this man and through his translating told the Pastor who we were.  He told him about our ministry "Angels In Voice" and that we would be singing at the Indian Crusade for Christ in September.  Now this is the neatest part.  How God works!! We never take our accompaniment tracks with us to any church unless we have been asked prior to sing.  Dad said as we were getting ready to leave our home.  "Why don't you take a couple of your accompaniment tracks"  Of coarse we asked "Why".  He replied "Just take them".  Now you have to understand.  Our dad has never said that before when going to a church we hadn't been invited to sing at. We obeyed and Guess What?  They did invite us to sing.  As well, as give a brief testimony.  It was a surprise to us, but we realized that God was opening a door for us to minister in this church.  Pastor Octavian came to us after the service was over and he told us how touched he was by our music and testimony.  He wanted to have us back for one of their Sunday services.  So this is how we came to know the church and we thank the Lord for leading us to these wonderful people.  Its an honor to serve the Lord with them.
