Wednesday Afternoon Candice

collapse post

Everything here is going pretty well.  We are still dealing with the sinus congestion that we've had for the past couple of weeks.  Thankfully, its pretty minor compared to the flu that is going around here.  Several people from church have been home sick with the flu.  I guess the flu shot isn't covering this particular strain.  I've heard it's horrible!!  Crystal and I are thankful so far this year we have been relatively healthy.  We pray the year will continue to be a good one for us.

 I know in our last post we mentioned that we had one more recording session before we were all finished.  Well, we went to that session a week ago Monday and finished up the three songs we had already started recording.  Everything went very well and we were able to get all the songs completed.  Danny and Ryan, the engineers, told us that they would be spending some time last week and this week mixing each song.  It is such a great feeling to know that our CD is almost done.  On Thursday they'll have a demo for us to bring home to listen to.  We'll then be able to make last minute changes if needed.   Sunday evening we had a booking at a gated retirement community, where the majority of the people are travelers.  We were their entertainment for the evening.  We prepared a program of six gospel and inspirational songs.  Our mom shared our story with everyone to give us a break.  It was truly a wonderful evening and everyone was so warm and friendly to us.  There is nothing more humbling than hearing someone say 'Your music and story have truly blessed me."  We pray the Lord will give us many more opportunities to touch people's lives.  One of the songs we sang that night was "Wind Beneath My Wings" and we dedicated the song to our parents because they have sacraficed so much for us over the years and they still give whole heartedly.  Many people came to us after the program and asked if we've recorded that song.  We told them we hadn't but would like to someday.  After discussing it with our parents we decided to record the song on this CD.  Monday morning dad called Jeff the owner of the studio and he said it was not a problem for us to come in and record the song.  We are scheduled to go in for our final recording session tomorrow and record "Wind Beneath My Wings."  It will be a nice song to have on our CD.  Crystal and I are very excited about that.  We hope everyone's having a good day.  It's sunny and warm today in the mid 60's, and we are loving it.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;

Staying busy Candice

collapse post

We wanted to update and let you know things are going well here.  We are struggling with some allergy and sinus congestion, but overall feeling relatively healthy.  We can't complain :)   Crystal and I have had a couple more recording sessions since the last time we posted.  We are excited because Monday will be our last recording session.  We just have to finish recording three songs that we already started recording last week.  Our dad has been on the computer getting the mechanical licensing permission for use of the songs that are on the CD. What a long process that is!!  If the Lord allows us the opportunity to make another CD in a couple of years, we will be praying about doing all original songs. Dad has also started an outline of the graphics.  It's nice to start getting an idea of colors and how we want this one to look.  Most importantly, praying it will be an inspiration to those who hear it.  We thank the Lord for the gifts he's given us, what an wonderful opportunity it is to spread his word through song.

On Wednesday, Pastor Hayes interviewed our parents as well as the two of us for his radio program called "The Vine Ministries." The shows main focus was on "Adoption" and how our parents felt the Lord calling them to adopt four children from India.  One of his purposes is supporting a Pastor in India who has oprhanages in India, and rescue abandoned children. Crystal and I also were able to share about what its like to be adopted and what God is doing in our lives today.  We'll let you know when the program will be airing.

Our good friend Krystle came back in to town from Washington couple of weeks ago.  She came over yesterday afternoon and the three of us went to Mimi's Cafe for dinner.  When we came back we played a few rounds of bowling on the Wii.  Krystle had never played the Wii before, but it didn't take her long to catch on.  It's nice to have her back in town for a few months while her husband is deployed overseas.  Crystal and I have known Krystle for a long time and she holds a special place in our hearts.  It was nice to see her again and catch up.  After she left, Crystal and I did DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for about an hour and a half.  Its a lot of fun and definitely a good workout.  Today we are both feeling sore.  We are just taking it easy and doing things around the house.  We are thankful for the beautiful warm sunny weather we are having today.  It's about 70 degrees out, just perfect! Have a GREAT weekend!! God Bless!
