The last two weeks have been quite busy around here. We're both still dealing with sinus and allergies. I believe this year has been one of the worst allergy seasons and its probably going to get even worse. We are really excited because we finally finished the recording process of our CD. We were given a listening copy so that we could carefully go over the songs and make changes if we needed to. We are both perfectionists and we are very critical of ourselves and always find something that could be better. We are very satisfied with the overall project. All that is left now is mastering the CD. We had our pictures done at Estrella Mountain park a couple of weeks ago and they turned out really nice. We chose a couple of pictures, one for the front cover and one for the back. Next week the graphics will be started, it's exciting knowing the CD is weeks away from completion. We are so thankful to God for allowing us to have another CD that we can share with others.
Our family drove up to Cottonwood on Saturday for our niece Danielle's baby shower. Danielle is seven months pregnant, she and her husband Mike are expecting their first son in April. They are naming the baby Austin Michael, what a great name. I think that was one of the biggest baby showers our mom said she had ever been too. They had some really fun game ideas. One of the games we played was the diaper game. There were five diapers, each one had a number and inside the diaper was a melted chocolate candy bar. We had to guess which chocolate candy bar it was by either smelling or tasting it. Well, Candice and I didn't want to taste it because it looked disgusting. LOL!!! So we smelled each one, and boy was it tricky. We obviously don't know our chocolate very well because we only got two out of the five right. Our mom and our aunt Judy did fairly well though. They got 3 out of 5 right. We also played baby bingo which is a pretty common game. Mom and our sister Anjeli tied as the winners on that game. Danielle got so many nice gifts. We're all so happy for the two of them. Our parents will be Great grandparents and Candice and I will be great aunts. As Danielle puts it "Our family will be one GREAT family"!! HA!
We were able to schedule a booking at Clarkdale Baptist Church the following day which is about twenty minutes away from Cottonwood. A friend of Rhonda's attends Clarkdale Baptist and arranged with her Pastor for us to come and sing. So we stayed the night our sister Rhonda's which was nice because we got to stay an extra day and visit with her. The church was a smaller church, but the people were very friendly. We sang a few songs and gave a brief testimony in their morning worship service. It was a very nice service and it was really neat that our extended family came to support us. God is so good!!
This week Candice and I picked up playing tennis on the Wii. Our parents got our family a Wii for Christmas and we thoroghly enjoy it. We're not very good at tennis yet, but it is a lot of fun and addicting too. Our mom is the tennis pro in the house. She and our brother Jody both have a pro score over 1000. We're having our friends Andy and JoAnne over tomorrow for dinner and a Wii game night. We're going to have a bowling tournament. We're looking forward to visiting with them and having a great time.
Next week we have a couple of singing engagements. Tuesday we're singing at a women's tea and Wednesday we're singing at a women's luncheon. We are excited about the opportunities the Lord is giving us. We're also very thankful that our health is staying stable and that we're able to minister in different places.
We have so many exciting things coming up. I know we are all counting down the weeks to the HPS conference in New York which is three weeks from tomorrow. We're looking forward to seeing all our HPS friends and family. It's one of the biggest highlights of the year.
