Visit with the Campbells Crystal

collapse post

We spent some time together with Kathryn and her mother Dawn Campbell.  We heard about Kathryn a couple of years ago and had an opportunity to meet her along with her parents in Washington DC  She is 23 years old, is an HPS patient and lives with her family in Virginia.   We are all adopted from India and have developed a friendship through our struggles with HPS.  Dawn and Kathryn planned a trip out here to Arizona and stayed with relatives.  On Sunday they met us at our church for the morning worship service.  Mom prepared a lunch when we arrived home, and we had a wonderful visit.  Candice and I sang a few songs, and we showed them our books of photographs from our childhood.  They also met our brother Sanjay, sister Anjeil and our niece and nephew Jasmine and Azion.  We had a really enjoyable day.  On Monday Dawn and Kathryn invited our family to meet Jim and Vicki Campbell, the couple they were staying with.  Candice and I sang a couple of songs while Kathryn signed.  Jim and Vicki were such friendly people and their home was absolutely beautiful!  After we left their home Dawn, Vicki, Candice, Kathryn and I enjoyed a nice lunch over at Mimi's Cafe.  Then it was off to have our pictures taken together at Wal-Mart portrait studios. Kathryn borrowed one of our tops so we could all match.  It was a lot fun trying to create different poses for the camera.  It was the last thing we did before saying goodbye.  Our time with Kathryn and Dawn was pleasurable.  It was a visit we will always remember.

Visit to the Pulmonologist Candice

collapse post

Its been quite a while since we've last posted.  Last week Crystal and I had an appointment with our Pulmonologist Dr. Radford.  We had to wait in the room for over an hour to see her because she was extremely busy seeing patients.  We felt so bad for her.  She is such a sweet doctor and she spends so much time with us.  Our appointment went well.  We told Dr. Radford that we have been struggling with severe allergies.   It seems like this year has been one of the worst years for them.   Dr. Radford noticed my face looked a bit swollen.  I woke up with a sinus headache that day, so that was probably what she was seeing.  She told me that I had a sinus infection and she started me on 500mg of Cefaclor for three weeks.  After taking three pills I had to stop the medication because it was irritating my bowel.  There are very few antibiotics that I can tolerate.  After speaking with Dr. Radford's nurse about the medication, Dr. Radford decided to switch the antibiotic to 300mg of Omnicef for three weeks.  So far I've haven't had any problems with it.  Crystal has been struggling with her acid reflux.  She's also had a lot more problems with asthma, chest tightness and Laryngitis.  She's had a difficult time singing the past two weeks.  Crystal has been taking Zegerid since the beginning of April because our Insurance changed and they would no longer cover Nexium.  Her acid reflux is so bad that the Zegerid is not holding her.  So Dr. Radford wrote a prescription for the Nexium for her.  She was concerned the acid reflux would cause more lung issues.   Normally a Pulmonologist doesn't prescribe a GI med because it won't go through, but we figured we'd give it a try anyway.  We took the prescription over to the Pharmacy thinking it probably wouldn't go through, but we wanted to give it a try anyway.  Dr. Radford wrote on the script that Crystal has severe acid reflux, as well as asthma.   Her reflux was causing her lungs to be tight and she was struggling to breathe.  I think that really helped a lot.  We handed the script to the Pharmacist and ten minutes later we had the bottle of Nexium in our hands.  That was definitely a miracle!!  The Pharmacist told us he didn't have a problem getting it to go through the Insurance.  We couldn't believe it.  We thank God they got it through with no hassle.  Our PFT's are staying steady, so we were thankful about that as well.  Mine was 65% and Crystal's were 67-68%.  Last time mine were at 63% so I was happy to hear it went up some.  Thank you Lord.

Another new addition to our family Crystal

collapse post

We became great aunts and our parents became great grand parents for the second time May 31st.  Our nephew Jeremy and his wife Zoe had a baby girl named Leah Crystal, she weighed 6lbs. 4oz. and 19 and half inches.  We took a trip to Rim Rock to see the new baby yesterday.  She is so beautiful.  We do believe that one of God's great miracles is a new born baby.  Mom made her a cute clown mobile and some pretty little headbands and lacy socks.  Mom put one of the headbands on her and it fit her little head perfectly. Rhonda (new grandma) Danielle and Mike, first time aunt and uncle and baby Austin became a first time cousin. were there as well.  We could not believe how big Austin has grown in the past three weeks.  He will be two months next Saturday.  It amazes me how quickly babies grow.  Jeremy grilled hamburgers and Rhonda brought a caked that said "Welcome Leah."  The hamburgers were good and the cake was delicious.  We also played Catch Phrase, it's a game we play when we have a family get together.  The game is much like Charades, you have to describe the phrase or word without saying the words.  It's fun to play with a big group and it gets very interesting.  This was Jeremy and Zoe's first time playing, and they both did really well.    Mom, Danielle, Mike and Candice were on team one.  Jeremy, Zoe, Dad and I were on team two.  We played three games and team one won the first game and our team won the last two.  It was so much fun, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.  We look forward to seeing Leah and Austin grow up together

This past week went by so quickly.   We spent a couple of days working on our classical pieces.  We're both working on new music.  Some of these songs are difficult, but we like to challenge ourselves, it helps us to improve and grow.  On Monday our friend Krystle spent the day with us. We had lunch at Johnny Rockets which is a little diner that plays 60's music.  We also rented a movie and played the wii with mom and Jody.  The three of us always have a great time together.  We pray everyone has a wonderful "Lord's Day" tomorrow.  God Bless!!
